This global Consumer Goods Giant had a presence in over 180 countries across the globe and employed more than 20,000 people. The companies core Finance & Administration costs were nearly twice the industry average and their processes were performed differently in virtually every location.

This lack of standardisation and inflated costs was impacting the company’s margins and inflating its operating expenditure. Additionally this inhibited the comparisons between the various operating companies and hindered the utilisation of their near-shore and off-shore capabilities.

We were called to support the standardise of the Order to Cash, Source to Pay and Record to Report processes and to optimise these in terms of lead time, cost and quality. Additionally we were asked to determine where the various elements of these processes should be performed, the metrics that should be implemented to measure performance and the governance structures that should be implemented to ensure the new processes were both implemented and sustained. Along side the multi million reductions in costs, the processes we developed were leveraged globally to bring standardisation, simplicity and true measures of performance.
